Green Mountain Sumatra Reserve: Format and Buying Checks

Check the Sumatra Reserve 18 oz whole-bean single bag against pods and multipacks, match your brewer, and compare cost using your actual dose.

Choose the format before the brand name

Sumatra Reserve appears in different formats. A familiar product name does not tell you whether the package contains whole beans, ground coffee or individual pods. Start with the exact package and the brewer you already own. A product suited to a Keurig pod brewer is not automatically a useful purchase for a moka pot.

This is a buying guide, not a hands-on review. We have not tasted the current retail batch, measured its caffeine, or inspected a certification document for the bag you might buy. Use the current package and checkout information for size and cost comparisons.

What the manufacturer source establishes

The official Keurig Sumatra Reserve pod page identifies a dark roast and lists single-origin, Fair Trade Certified and USDA Organic product highlights. These are manufacturer statements about the displayed pod product. They are not our independent certification audit or evidence about a different bagged listing.

Do not transfer the pod package size, tasting description or certification claims to whole beans without checking that package. The manufacturer's bagged-product page was unavailable during this update. The retail check below establishes the displayed bag format and selected quantity; it does not independently verify the bag's certifications, origin or freshness.

Organic labeling does not establish that we tested pesticide residues or that a particular coffee offers a health benefit. We also have no measured caffeine value for your dose and preparation.

Selected retail option: 18 oz whole-bean single bag

On October 8, 2026, the Amazon listing for ASIN B07KKKL1QV identified Green Mountain Sumatra Reserve as whole-bean coffee in an 18 oz bag. The selected flavor was Sumatra Reserve and the selected size was 1.13 Pound (Pack of 1). The front package photo also showed whole bean and 18 oz. This is a dated listing check, not an inspection of the bag you will receive.

  • Use this option if: you want whole beans and already have a grinder suitable for your brewer.
  • Choose another format if: you need ready-ground coffee or compatible K-Cup pods. The brand name alone does not make these formats interchangeable.
  • Check the quantity: the separate 18 Ounce (Pack of 2) option is a two-bag purchase. Its total coffee amount and checkout cost differ from the single bag; compare total net amount before dividing by your dose.

Before paying, recheck the selected size, seller and purchase terms. Product options and offers can change after this check; arrival freshness and lot information still require the actual package.

Match it to your brewing setup

  • Whole bean: choose only if the selected package says whole bean and you have a grinder suitable for your brewer.
  • Ground coffee: verify the grind and intended preparation. A package name alone cannot establish moka-pot suitability.
  • K-Cup pods: check the exact brewer compatibility and package count; do not treat a pod count as a bag weight.

For a moka setup, use our coffee selection guide and first-brew instructions. Follow your brewer's safety instructions instead of changing fill limits to chase a promised flavor.

Use your receipt for a cost comparison

Record the amount actually paid and the usable amount in the package. Cost per serving equals package cost multiplied by your dose, divided by usable package amount. Use the same unit for dose and package amount. For pods, divide the package cost by the actual pod count instead.

RecordCheck before comparing
Exact selected formatWhole bean, ground, pod or soluble; do not compare them as identical products.
Package quantityNet amount and number of packs from the selected label.
Actual total costInclude the charges you pay; do not use an old headline price.
Your doseUse a repeatable amount appropriate to the package and brewer instructions.
Preference notesRecord your own observations without treating them as universal taste claims.

Repeat the comparison using the same serving size. This arithmetic does not establish that one product tastes better or predicts savings against a fictional cafe purchase.

Storage, sources and limits

Follow the selected package's storage directions and keep its label for later checks. See our storage guide for related questions, while keeping bean advice separate from soluble-product instructions.

Listing and front package photo checked October 8, 2026. The selected format and pack count are recorded above; delivered contents, lot information and checkout terms still need your own check. This page and some linked guides contain affiliate links; see our disclosure.
