Research and hands-on testing

Product comparisons can draw on manufacturer specifications, product documentation, and attributed sources. Reading these sources is not the same as using a product. A recommendation alone should not be taken as evidence that we purchased or tested it.

Evidence for a hands-on claim

A hands-on review should identify the product and size, who performed the test, the test dates, how the unit was obtained, and the conditions used. Measurements, photographs, and observations should support the conclusions. Blind taste tests and long-term durability claims need their own documented methods and results.

What to compare

Useful comparison criteria include capacity, stove compatibility, materials, cleaning requirements, replacement parts, and ease of use. Manufacturer specifications should be distinguished from measured results. Taste preferences and suitability depend on the coffee, grind, recipe, and user.

Limitations of existing reviews

This site does not provide a complete public set of purchase records and test logs for its existing reviews. Earlier site-wide statements that every recommendation was purchased and tested for a fixed period have been removed. Product-specific claims still require supporting evidence; this page does not independently validate them.

Prices and availability

Retailer prices, availability, and shipping terms can change. Check the linked retailer before purchasing. An unavailable price is not a zero-dollar offer.

Updates and corrections
